In the U.S. prescription benefits are the largest and fastest growing component of healthcare spend for employers.  Traditional PBMs are part of the problem, not the solution.  Join Chris Blackley, CEO and Co-Founder of prescryptive, as he pulls back the curtain and exposes the $100B of hidden profits pocketed by the traditional PBMs, and discusses alternatives to the status quo.  

Rick Abbott, Vice President, Product and Market Solutions, Premera Blue Cross

Rick Abbott provides leadership and oversight for aligning the organization’s overall product strategy.  He joined Premera in 2018 from Imagine Health, a startup focused on creating high-performance health plans for national employers. 

Prior to joining Premera, Rick served as Vice President Customer Success at Castlight Health, Vice President Health Plan Services at Health Data Management Solutions (HDMS), Senior Manager of Data Use for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and Director BHI Programs for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.

He completed his undergraduate education at Iowa State University with a major in advertising. He attained a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University with an emphasis in health sector management and has completed graduate coursework in Medical Informatics at Northwestern University. 

Chris Blackley, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, prescriptivetm

Chris brings more than 20 years of startup and leadership experience to Prescryptive Health. His prior startup in this industry delivered to market the first multi-tenant hosted platform for retail and mail order pharmacies and was recognized as a Visionary in Gartner Group’s Magic Quadrant.

Prior to launching Prescryptive, Chris spent 14 years at Microsoft leading commercial enterprise and public sector licensing in their Worldwide Licensing and Pricing business. Previously Chris led teams in software engineering and cyber security consulting at IBM and Ernst & Young LLP. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University (B.B.A) and Seattle University School of Law (J.D. cum laude).

Fees:     $65 members; $85 non-members and guests before Dec. 3

              $80 members; $100 non-members and guests after Dec. 3 

Online registration deadline is December 3. If you miss the online registration, call the office 206.653.7259. No refunds or credit for a future meeting can be granted after the deadline.

* NOTE:  This presentation has been approved for two (2) hours of Continuing Education Credit by the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

In order to received these insurance credits YOU MUST be seated for the presentation within 5 minutes of the session beginning.  You are allowed a break, but you must limit your time outside the presentation. The Insurance Credits are for two hours.  NO PARTIAL CREDITS awarded. You cannot sign out early.   

The Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner requires that each producer requesting credits must sign the form with their licensed name and write the time of arrival. Only upon completion of the session, you must initial out and write the time.
